El Nathan Christian Camp

A Full-Service Camp with a distinctive history:

El Nathan Christian Camp has a distinctive history. Purchased in 1946, it soon became a camp and conference center for Native people from the nearby Navajo Reservation.

Walking over the scenic property that would become El Nathan, the early missionaries visualized by faith what God could do in this unique location. Their prayer was for the purchase of the land, allowing them to use it for God’s glory in ministry to Native people. God granted their request, and as mission staff gathered to dedicate the property to the Lord, Ephesians 3:20 became the theme of their praise: He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. The new camp facilities were named El Nathan, Gift of God.

Since those early days when the camp rang with the laughter of Navajo children attending week-long Bible camps, both Native and non-Native groups have enjoyed the clear mountain air and fresh smell of ponderosa pines while learning more about themselves and God.

Over the years, the vision for El Nathan has remained the same. We are committed to providing a unique setting where people of all ages can grow in their walk with the Lord and with others in the family of God. In the process, we want to bring honor and glory to the One who provided the gift of El Nathan.
